MUSIC

Co-Founder & CEO

Matt Pincus is the Co-Founder and CEO of MUSIC, an investment company focused on the music industry. Established in 2022, MUSIC takes concentrated positions across growth technology, content, intellectual property, and talent development.

To date, MUSIC has invested over $180 million. Current holdings include, Splice, a leading AI-enabled content and creation platform, and LVRN (Love Renaissance), the leading Atlanta-based independent music company. In 2025, MUSIC formed a partnership (backed by Cercano Investments and Brookfield Growth) to acquire a majority control stake in Soundtrack – the  leading provider of on demand music to B2B commercial users. In April 2004, MUSIC signed an agreement to sell its first investment, independent music publisher Kobalt, in which MUSIC was the second largest investor behind Francisco Partners, an outcome which netted a 25%+ IRR.

In 2026, MUSIC formed Trust Records & Assets, a genre focused, all rights intellectual property company with an initial capitalization of $300M.

Pincus was previously the founder of SONGS Music Publishing and Co-Founder of its sister label RECORDS, which he sold in 2017. Under his leadership, SONGS became one of the most successful independent publishers of the streaming era, signing The Weeknd, Lorde, Diplo, DJ Mustard, and many other global hitmakers to their first music publishing deals. The SONGS and RECORDS exit transactions yielded an ~9x multiple on invested capital.

Pincus currently sits on the boards of Kobalt, Splice, LVRN, Soundtrack, and Trust Assets. He began his career in music as the bass player for the seminal New York hardcore band Judge
